Biography

David is a community worker in east London. He has been involved in lots of social innovations and has helped to set up several organisations including Shift – developing products that change behaviour, the Children’s Discovery Centre - working on literacy and language, Changing London and Community Links. Community Links was the UKs largest local voluntary organisation when David stepped down as CEO after 25 years. He still leads it’s national Early Action Task Force and chairs the board at Shift. He is also currently working on tackling social isolation as a Fellow at the LSE’s Marshall Institute and blogs about this project here.

From 2007 to 2010, David led the Prime Ministers Council for Social Action where the Social Impact Bond was originally conceived. He subsequently chaired the Social Finance advisory board for the Peterborough SIB – the first in the world and now chairs the Social Finance Impact Incubator.
