Dan is an Associate Director in our Government + Enterprise team.

He works on a range of outcomes-focused projects with local authorities, the central government, social impact investors, and local housing authorities.

Before joining Social Finance, Dan served as the Head of Inward Investment for Invest Newcastle, the leading economic development agency in Northeast England. Prior to this role, Dan was a Director at Third Sector Capital Partners in San Francisco, a peer organisation of Social Finance USA. During his nearly six years at Third Sector, Dan worked on several social impact bonds and broader outcomes-oriented government initiatives addressing housing stability, mental health, and recidivism in disadvantaged American communities. This work included leading the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health through the design of new outcomes-oriented contracts that will improve mental health and housing outcomes for over 15,000 vulnerable residents.

Dan spent his early career as an investment banker in New York and a strategy consultant in London. He splits his time between his home in lovely Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Social Finance’s office in London.
