Sam Villis
Associate Director
With over 10 years working in digital, including six within central government, Sam has developed a deep understanding of the complexities of delivering digital products and services within the public sector.
Sam worked at the Cabinet Office, Government Digital Service, National Leadership Centre and at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (previously MHCLG). Within the Local Digital Collaboration Unit, Sam managed the delivery of the Local Digital Fund, and acted as a ‘Collaboration lead’ working with Local Authorities in receipt of funding to support their upskilling and successful delivery of their aims.
Sam also developed the team’s training offer to Local Government, researching, mapping and delivering and monitoring a suite of training based on the needs of local government teams.
Your ideal dinner party guest(s)?
I think I’d just like to sit and listen to a load of great artists and illustrators, maybe Rebecca Strickson, Pete Fowler, Anthony Burrill, Stanley Donwood, Morag Myerscough. Alternatively maybe a rockstar lineup of Nick Cave, Robert Smith, Thom Yorke, PJ Harvey, Kim Deal, Kim Gordon.
What’s your favourite board game?
I’ve been playing a fun little game called ‘Nice Buns’ where you have to collect different coloured Bao buns.
What’s your speciality in the kitchen?
Bacon and butternut squash risotto (but I probably have Hello Fresh to thank for that)
