Sara joined Social Finance in 2016 as an Analyst, working across a range of different issue areas. She performed consulting and advisory work for Local Authorities and Social Enterprises in the Education, Employment and Housing sector. She has also joined the International team, supporting social investment intermediaries to mobilize and develop a social Investment market in Brazil.
Sara is currently focused on Digital Labs work where she has been using her analytic and data science skills to explore Children’s services related datasets. As part of Digital Labs team, she writes code to identify the needs of young people and predict what will happen to them. Sara is also the Analyst responsible for the performance management of the Essex SIB, the First Local Authority commissioned SIB.
Before joining Social Finance, Sara worked at the Portuguese Social Investment Lab. She also acted as Assistant Professor of two master courses at university and worked in projects across education, development, immigration and intercultural dialogue. In her free time, Sara enjoys running, travelling and improving her programming skills.
Sara holds a BSc in Applied Mathematics and Computation from the Technical University of Lisbon (IST, Portugal), a course in Finance at Imperial College of London (UK) and an Msc in Finance from NOVA Economics and Business School (Portugal). Sara has also completed a Data Science certification from General Assembly (London, UK).
