Charlotte Haywood

Charlotte’s work with the Gates Foundation has included a performance-based financing mechanism to mobilize funding for global polio eradication efforts (implemented by the UN and WHO) and a guarantee structure with DFC to support the development of agricultural supply chains in East Africa.
Prior to this, Charlotte managed Social Finance’s work in Liberia, where she worked with government, foundations, and service providers to design, implement and monitor the LEAP program, an innovative public-private partnership in education.
She also led Social Finance’s work on the design of the Utkrisht Development Impact Bond, which aimed to reduce maternal and infant deaths in Rajasthan by improving access to, and the quality of care in health facilities across the state.
Charlotte has more than 12 years’ experience working in innovative finance across a range of sectors, as well as previously working for the ADB. She has been a management consultant in the energy sector, and was in the Private Sector Team at the Asian Development Bank.
She holds a 1st Class Degree in Economics from the LSE and an MBA from London Business School, as well as CFA (Levels I & II).
