Katy Nex

Katy is Social Finance’s Director who focuses on developing new types of social investment in the health and social care sector. She brings to the role many years of experience from her previous career in the NHS, where she worked as a speech and language therapist and also in non-clinical management and operational roles.

Katy joined Social Finance in 2020, with a passion to improve health outcomes. Her initial role focused on end of life care, leading on the development of social impact bonds across the UK. Katy’s on-the-ground experience of working with older people brings a deep understanding of the challenges facing the health and social care sector and the barriers facing those who want to create good outcomes for people across the system.

Katy is the accountable director for the first Community Transformation Fund in the UK, focusing on neighbourhood health in West Hertfordshire. Working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and the West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust this will deliver an innovative model of social investment to transform neighbourhood health for people living with frailty.
