Katy Nex

Katy is a Director who focuses on developing new types of social investment in the health and social care sector. She brings many years experience from her previous career in the NHS, where she worked as a speech and language therapist, as well as in various non-clinical management and operational roles.

Katy joined Social Finance in 2020 with a passion for improving health outcomes. In her first role she led on the development of Social Impact Bonds for end-of-life care across the UK. 

Katy’s on-the-ground experience of working with older people means she has a deep understanding of challenges in the health and social care sector and the barriers facing those focused on improving health outcomes for people across the system.

Katy is Social Finance’s accountable director for the first Neighbourhood Transformation Funds (NTFs) in the UK – in Lincolnshire and West Hertfordshire. Pioneered by Macmillan Cancer Support working in partnership with Social Finance, these funds are delivering an innovative model of social investment to transform neighbourhood health.
