Michael Hanks

Michael has worked across much of Social Finance’s data analytics work since joining as our first data scientist in 2020. He has led the work to develop our analytics capability and infrastructure over the last five years, particularly for Children’s Services and Health & Social Care work.

He has led on the Data Platform for Children’s Services, modelling demand for placements for Children’s Services, analytics for understanding risk for children and young people in Merseyside, and a host of innovative reporting projects to support the End of Life Care Integrator fund.

Before Social Finance, Michael worked as a Business Analyst in Finance for several years and spent his academic life hunting for bits and bobs to increase our understanding of the human fossil record.
