International Manager
The Opportunity
As a Manager in our Nairobi hub, you are not just executing projects, you are anchoring and building our presence in East Africa. Working directly alongside the Head of East Africa in Nairobi and our teams in London and Bogotá, you will serve as the core engine of delivery, translation, and team growth.
This is a rare opportunity to work at the frontier of development finance within an entrepreneurial, innovation-led team focused on impact over process.. We value thinking outside the box, allowing you to focus on whether development initiatives actually work for the communities they serve.
Responsibilities
End-to-End Project Delivery
- Drive Complex Problem-Solving: Take nebulous, messy social challenges from global funders and structure them into clear concepts and practical insights that enable our partners to amplify their impact
- Deliver High-Impact Advisory: Lead the design and delivery of innovative financing mechanisms, including blended finance transactions, outcomes based approaches and results based financing structures.
- Create high quality outputs: Oversee the development of robust financial models and synthesise complex realities into clear, innovative concepts, re-thinking and re-designing development finance.
Stakeholder Management
- Bridge Two Worlds: Act as a critical translator between large institutional funders (such as foundations or international development banks / bilaterals) and local implementers, NGOs, and government officials on the ground.
- Balance Listening with Leading: Build deep, trusted relationships across organisations and sectors, guiding senior clients through complex, institutional environments without losing momentum, working side by side with them to achieve real change.
Building a market and a team
- Anchor the Team: Partner immediately with the Head of East Africa to build a sustainable, structured delivery team, actively assist in interviewing, onboarding, and coaching the permanent junior local staff hired to sit directly under you.
- Global Team Management: While you will initially be the senior delivery engine on the ground, you will immediately manage and guide global talent, pulling in Analysts and Associates from our London and Bogotá offices, as well as managing local external specialised consultants, to deliver on active projects.
- Build the market: You’ll also work closely with the Head of East Africa to build new partnerships and secure new clients, building on your own networks as well as ours.
About you

- Outcomes Over Transactions: You lean toward long-term ecosystem building and strategic advisory with your unwavering commitment to impact.
- Resilience for Innovation: You possess the patience and professional maturity required to navigate pioneering financial structures through large, complex institutions.
