The Analyst Programme

The Analyst Programme
Applications have now closed for the Analyst Programme 2026.
Over three years, Analysts have the opportunity to work across a variety of issue areas and projects, experiencing different ways of working and differing roles within projects, developing a broad, transferable skillset.
Our Analysts are given training, both on the job and in group settings, coaching and mentorship opportunities to equip them with the skills and experience to build a career in social change.
This programme is designed for those have just completed their degree and are looking for their first role or for those who do not have a degree but have up to three years’ work experience.
We actively encourage applications from under-represented and minoritised groups, including those with lived experience of the social issues we are working to address.

The training and rotations in different workstreams familiarise us with the most pressing challenges in society and stimulate critical thinking. And the people and the support structure here is amazing – from day one, everyone is there to help you.

Analyst Programme overview
Analysts work in our UK team, where we focus on four core areas of work – our‘Communities of Impact’ – Children and Young People, Health and Social Care, Employment and Skills, and Housing and Homelessness. We also have four core areas of expertise – in Social Investment, System Change, Human-Centred Design, and Data and Digital. Find out more here.
As part of our TAP programme, Analysts benefit from:
Structured support
Support from senior colleagues and peers across the organisation
Learning and development
Continued training and personal development tailored to your interests
Varied projects and issues
Rotations across projects and impact areas, giving you a broad range of experience
Network building
Meeting stakeholders both internally and with others in the social impact sector
Training
Analysts start with an intensive month-long training programme, where you’ll meet people from all parts of the organisation, be introduced to the heads of all of our impact areas as well as learning the technical skills you will need.
After that, in addition to joining sessions in our company-wide training programme, our Analysts have specific quarterly training sessions on areas where you need more support. These can be on anything from an overview of foundations and philanthropy in the UK, to specialist technical skills, to softer skills like time management and scheduling.
Analysts’ work
When the initial training is completed, you’ll start to work on projects in one of our Communities of Impact alongside sector experts and technical specialists in our areas of expertise. Through cross-team working on projects, you could work with data scientists, specialists in human-centred design, product developers, financial analysts, people with backgrounds in healthcare, charities, government and much more. During the programme, you’ll be given the opportunity to work in at least two of our impact areas, on a variety of projects, as you develop your skills and sector knowledge.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with committed people who encourage me to push the boundaries to make a real difference. It has helped me to specialise my knowledge and develop my analytical, research and data skills in life-changing contexts.

Support
Our Analysts benefit from the informal support of peers who join the programme at the same time, as well as a buddy assigned to help them navigate the organisation in your early days. An Analyst Co-ordinator works with each cohort, offering informal support, as well as liaising with Analysts’ line managers to plan specific training sessions for each group.
Career development
Analysts take on increasing responsibility as they grow, with many Analysts progressing to Senior Analyst roles by their third year. From there, alumni of the programme continue their development in more senior roles at Social Finance or across the wider social impact sector.
Your potential career progression within Social Finance could look like this:
Analysts and Senior Analysts work across different teams and social issue areas, building a broad skill set and knowledge.
Associates are often a key part of project delivery teams, supporting Analysts and working closely with the Manager.
Managers are generally the lynchpin of the project team, liaising with clients and managing the team.
Associate Directors lead projects, build and manage client and stakeholder relationships, and support the running of the team.
Directors identify and secure new business development opportunities alongside overseeing successful delivery of their projects.
