Katy Nex is a Director at Social Finance and leads on developing new types of social investment in health and social care. Before joining Social Finance, Katy worked in the NHS as a language therapist and in non-clinical management and operational roles.

Katy joined Social Finance in 2020 with a passion to improve health outcomes. She initially focused on end-of-life care, leading on the development of Social Impact Bonds (SIBs) across the UK. 

Her on-the-ground experience of working with older people has given her a deep understanding of challenges in the health and social care sector and the barriers facing those striving to achieve good outcomes for people across the system.

Katy is the accountable director for the first Community Transformation Fund in the UK focusing on neighbourhood health in West Hertfordshire. Working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and the West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, this will deliver an innovative model of social investment to transform neighbourhood health for people living with frailty.
