Robert Gillespie is a former director of NatWest Group plc and is chair of the Remuneration Committee and serves on the Audit, Risk and Nominations and Governance Committees.
He is also a director of Burford Capital. He was formerly the Director General of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers from 2010 to 2013, and Global Head of Investment Banking at UBS from 1999 to 2005.
Robert was Chair of the Council of Durham University from 2012 to 2018, Chair of Somerset House Trust from 2006 to 2015, Chair of the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race from 2009 to 2021, and a Board Member of Ashurst LLP from 2013 to 2019. He was also a member of the Stop Organised Abuse Board of the NSPCC and a Vice President of Save the Children.
