She holds the FCA regulated roles of SMF16 and SMF17 for us and works closely with the board and staff, providing balanced views on GRC matters. Shivani designed and developed our first overall Principal Risk Framework and Risk Management Processes, as well as establishing our Audit Committee.
She has led the regulatory and compliance agenda across the organisation, negotiating our permissions with the FCA and ensuring they are fit for purpose, as well as enabling the organisation to be compliant whilst retaining a commercial outlook. She often provides a second independent opinion on complex topics/projects and governance-related challenges.
Shivani runs her own business advisory, Shivalry, and has more than 20 years’ experience across the private and public sectors. She has held, and continues to hold, Board Director roles and has chaired Audit Committees.
