Case Study: Essex Edge of Care Social Impact Bond (SIB) – preventing young people in Essex from entering care
In 2013 we partnered with Essex County Council, eight social investors and the national charity Action for Children to launch the first Social Impact Bond to be commissioned by a local authority. Over five years more than 140, 000 care days were prevented – days that children were able to spend with their families rather than in care.
